Actions speak louder than words

Let's face it, we girls love to hear sweet talks..... About how beautiful we are, how smart we are and that our prince will love us forever. But words are just words, they do not carry weight if they are no followed by actions. Solid actions. It's extremely easy to say that you love a person when he or she is " perfect", what about 20 years later, or when something unpleasant really happened???

It is always safe to back up your statements with real -life example. I got myself one.

Selina Ren, from the group, S.H.E. She suffered from serious burnt injuries during while shooting a drama musical.

Before : Youthful, beautiful, cheerful

After : 53% body parts burnt, became plump, had to wear nylon tough material all the time, couldn't walk for a long time.

Before that, she had everything. Looks, talent, and a prince, whom she was engaged to. A dashing young lawyer.

After that, her career ( singer) was in jeopardy..... There's a high possibility of her not even surviving!!!!! ( Let alone walking or even getting married!!)

Her father described her critical condition : Both her legs looked like Lady Gaga's meat attire, with burnt and dead skin wrapping over her flesh. It was plain disgusting.

They were suppose to be married that year itself, but the fire stole their dreams. Everyone was equally sad for Selina.

But Selina herself may not know this then, that her choice to get married to the lawyer was indeed one of the best choice made in her entire life.

That lawyer, means what he says. He demonstrated his love towards her through his actions that he indeed love her for who she is. Never a single day did he leave her alone, he massaged her, hugged her, assured her that he will NEVER LEAVE her.

Even though Selina's father repeatedly asked him to break their engagement , but he paid him no heed. And that man, the man who barely shed a tear in the past, became a cry baby because of her.

God's grace is so wonderful that Selina has recovered gradually and they are now both happily married. Perhaps some might say that their marriage will not last long or what so ever, but I offer my sincere prayers and best wishes to them. The fact that he is willing to take care of her during that period is something beyond any logic in this world. Oh, Selina is so blessed to have a man like him.!

So guys, don't just talk about words. Don't just tell us " I love you" and pretend that everything will be fine. ( I mean continue to say that, but back up your words with actions!! )

Teachers

I have a strange yet amazing relationship with teachers. How true is this statement when my mother is a teacher? Not to mention, my aunt and my uncle!! Lo and behold, even Yours Truly is thinking of becoming one as well.

I wrote something like this today : Teachers are like mothers. They see through your thoughts and know where you really are at that present moment.

They seriously do.
Today my Maths teacher, Madam Zainah told me this, if you choose to switch off your mind during any class, you will lose interest and you will lose your focus. How true is that. I have to admit the fact that it is somewhat a challenge or a struggle to really enjoy Maths as it is. I have my lack of confidence to blame on, or rather pride regarding this matter....... I really am trying my best to like Maths. Like, not LOVE.........

This year is a big year for me, a major test this November and end of first semester and bid au revoir to 18 years of my school life!! I know, time flies but we are the navigator!!

Gotta really work it out!! By preparing myself physically and mentally!! It sounds so hard, but

Learnt a couple of things today. I am not giving up ~~that easily~~, because God will never give up on us.

Finally, a tribute to all teachers. =)

Unusual truth

Today, I borrowed a book from the school's library. It was a new experience to me as I have to go through several processes to actually get a card and borrow a book. ( Did I mention that I had to pay 3 bucks for the card?)

Anyway, here is the book.

Interesting read.

The book was written in a diary form. Hence, it is not heavy and dull. Of course, the main character is Princess Isabel of Castilla. I have learnt about her and her husband, Fernando during my previous History lessons, but this book really helped me to discover another side of her. Well, nobody is perfect.

Isabel has an interesting family background and the book described the social surroundings in Castilla perfectly well. The very fact that she was betrothed to her brother's thirty three brother in law at the age of fifteen is extremely outrageous!!! What was I doing at the age of fifteen???

Studying, studying, nothing but studying for examinations!!

* Really am blessed*

But she eventually married Prince Fernando of Argon , who is one year her junior. They appeared to be very much in love with each other and they have 5 children.
Thing about them is that even though they claimed to be Christians, they sometimes do not act like one. They kill innocent people, consult astrologers and they simply don't walk the talk.

This book is an eye opener to the rich history of Spain and their royalties. =)

Last weekend

I know this is such a late notice. But I have no choice, I was very busy and you know, sometimes words just don't come easy........

What happened?? I created memories ( not history) !!!
For the first time in my life, I actually officially debated. Yes, I entered a debate competition. What an experience!! What else, I was the first to speak and the first to " shot down" What a debate!!! Well, let's just say that we were winners at heart!! =)
Wonderful experience!! Especially when your opponent is KGV!!! They were good, and they were state debaters. Not playing any self defense here, but the three speakers from my team ( we were as new as honeydew....) We all enjoyed ourselves, thank God for everything!!

Sunday, I ran for a marathon. No kidding! I got a certificate to substantiate this statement!

Yup, I actually ran ( well I walk 98% ) for 7 km, will definitely do better next year!!

Haha, hopefully this statement will not be as short-lived like my New Year Resolutions......

Received some shocking news today.......
Anne, my class monitor will be leaving for matriculation tomorrow!!
What an emotional roller coaster, eh?
You might ask, what's the big deal about this??
Hello, of course it is a big deal, someone that you have grown accustomed to is about to leave!!

I can only say that I'm an emotional person. Well, I didn't shed tears in school today, but I was really, truly sad. It's an internal conflict, on one hand, I really want her to stay, on the other hand, I want her to go for the sake of her future. Talk about feelings.......

Anne is such a blessing, I will not forget the times we had when we were in class, Biology tuition, and Christian Fellowship. Even though we didn't know each other for a long time, but I do love her as a sister of Christ. =)
